Beautiful and not too crowded. Nice little pond for the kids to roll up their pants, take off their shoes and play in the water and sand. Well maintained flat trail but nice woodsy trails off of that if you are feeling a bit more adventurous. A nice place to bring the whole family!
Stratton Brook State Park was established in 1949 and is on 145 acres. It's located in Simsbury and has a huge parking lot; there's even an accessible parking lot. When I parked my vehicle, the first thing I noticed was the lovely red covered foot bridge and pond.
It's Sunday July 19th 2020 my soulmate and I (her name is Heather) went to check out the Stratton Brook State Park for the first time because it was 96 degrees out and we wanted to go swimming pretty badly. Well we went there and stay about 1hr and a half. Such a beautiful place to go.
This state park is a beautifully well maintained 148 acre recreation area in Simsbury, surrounded by nature & quiet solitude. There are several level / gravel walking trails with many hiking trails off the main trail that lead into the woods.
