Confirmed from Greece Dry Dock's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Greece Dry Dock

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (31 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Great peaceful Erie canal trail yo walk, bike, or dog stroll.”

Nice short, wooded walk on good surface to the canal itself. Benches and informational boards at the canal. Access to longer walks or bicycle rides along the canal.

★★★★★ — Carl , Jul 2023

A beautiful place to walk. Parking is small that's okay. I saw wildlife. Secluded and very peaceful. ❤🚶‍♀️

★★★★★ — Kathy , Jul 2020

Great place to walk, bike. Tiny parking lot. Isn't plowed in winter! Just there on 2/8/ 22, still not plowed in winter! Wish the town would get on that. Pupper and I love walking there! Still a great place to walk and enjoy the canal as of 4/15/22!

★★★★★ — Michael , Apr 2022

This is basically a walk along the canal towpath. The trail is smooth and clean. What makes it interesting that there is an abandoned canal spur that was used to load local produce on the barges. There was also a small abandoned lock

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Should you be lucky enough to find parking, half mile walk, you will be on Erie canal East or West you could walk/ride your bicycle for miles.”
