Confirmed from Griswold GTD Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Griswold GTD Conservation Area
“Once a while you see other people, but it is usually quiet.”
This is a really great example of why I prefer conservation areas to state parks. The trails and parking area are well maintained and the conservation commission clearly cares about the area.
I took a nice walk here. The area is managed by Greenfield Conservation and is unlike Massachusetts WMAs but has similar rules. The trail markers are easily visible. The parking area has ample parking. Enough for a a dozen or so vehicles.
If you are looking to do just the loop, keep an eye out because there are so many side trails. But the upside of getting sidetracked is, it is a great place to explore.
Very nice hiking trails with several interesting conservation type nodes along the way

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
