Confirmed from Hampton Beach State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Atlantic Ocean swim area with day-rate & metered parking, bathhouses, an RV park & event facilities.
What runners say about Hampton Beach State Park
“It offers a clean and tidy environment, making it an ideal spot for children to play and explore safely.”
“A stunning beach that is perfect for families, featuring soft sand and gentle waves.”
“Fairly family friendly, but some parts of town can have people i wouldn't want around my children, but you can just avoid them pretty easily.”
Traveled up to Hampton Beach, NH for our 4th year attending the Seafood Festival. This 3 day event is an absolute must. Such a great venue, food, entertainment and can access it all conveniently on foot. I recommend securing a local motel on the strip so one can walk and take a desired break in between.
This is a well maintained beach with clean restrooms. There is a camping area near the road for campers if you have a fully contained RV or trailer, no tents allowed. The beach area and entry to water is fairly flat making it easy to walk and enter shallow water. There is a rocky jetty for fishing.
A truly wonderful place for walks with the family. I am happy to return to this place again and again.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
