Confirmed from Harborview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Harborview Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,426 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 19 mentions

“Especially considering the easy access, practically right off Mukilteo speedway and parking is steps away from a beautiful sprawling grass field.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“There's a good deal of open space and then a nice area of shady grass, spotted with tall evergreens!”

Beautiful park. This place has a great view and THE BEST sunsets. Parking is easy. There is even a little trail that goes over the train tracks to the beach. I love this place. It’s also dog friendly.

★★★★★ — Zoie , May 2024

Harborview Park is a nice spot with beautiful views of the water, making it a great place for a walk or a relaxing break. There’s plenty of open space, a playground for kids, and a few picnic areas. It’s a good place to watch the sunset or just enjoy the fresh air.

Beautiful park by water. Walking path is mostly dirt, okay for a walker or wheelchair. Grassy areas good for picnics and benches that gace the water. Didn't see restrooms aside from a porta potty...

Great spot to enjoy your coffee, have a picnic, set up a volleyball net, take a hike down to the beach below and enjoy the views of the Puget Sound, Everett Waterfront, Jetty Island, Hat Island, and Mt Baker. Someone commented that there was views of Rainier and that's incorrect. It's Mt Baker, not Rainier.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 42 mentions

“Nice and clean park to come look at a beautiful, gorgeous view of the sunset or just to vibe and have a picnic or play any sports.”

Plan your run at Harborview Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
