Confirmed from Hart Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Fantastic bike trail from Hart to Montague in Michigan. Roughly 22 miles in length. The trail is flat for the most part with only 1k of elevation gain in 22 miles. The trail is clean and paved the entire way. There are several street crossing to stay alert.
We did a 19 mile section on the trail and it was a great but windy day to ride. You can access the trail very easily at the different parking locations all along the way, and do a much as you want to. The trail is an out and back. This is a paved, well maintained trail.
A beautiful trail with new pavement. Some of the rails to trails really need attention. So many broken spots that are not fun. This trail is well maintained. If you can start in Mears and make it half way, Country Dairy is right there for delicious burgers and home made ice cream.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
