Confirmed from Hassen Creek Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with a short hiking trail leading to a waterfall.
What runners say about Hassen Creek Nature Trail
“It was awesome I only walked until I discovered the waterfall Im sure I only walked a small fraction of the area but it was all so beautiful”
“Wish more people advised the steep walk for best pictures, but quick and easy trail even with tree's felled by recent storm.”
Absolutely wonderful! I really enjoyed the plackers getting you information about the land and its history. The main trail is large and enough room to comfortably walk around others. The waterfall is a perfect stopping point for dogs or kids to cool off. We will be back!
Aptly named trail follows Hassen Creek. Several steep inclines each way. Terminates at a picturesque little dam on one side and private property on the other. Good for a 30 minute or so outing. Lots of nature sounds to be heard. Spotted a few deer too between the trail and the road that also parallels the creek.
Date of visit Tuesday August 24, 2021. I finally found the time to visit here. The trail is wet and steep but I had my cane with me which was a great help. The waterfalls is neat. It was so refreshing to be near the water for a few minutes. I didn't see any wildlife on this trip.
Short simple hike. Steep at some point but manageable. Waterfall is beautiful.

“5, as it is rather hilly and rocky… especially the part of the trail that goes down to the waterfall.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
