Confirmed from Hayden Arch Bridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Hayden Arch Bridge
“An easy little hike with beautiful views, just under 4 miles to the end and back.”
“Comfortable, easy walk with some nice geography.”
Did hike 04/22/22, beautiful views!! Where the road splits by the dam, take the lower route. The upper route is gated and you cannot pass to see the upper section of the dam and the incline is steep. Was not worth the trek up. But the lower route was beautiful, got some great shots!!! All paved roads to walk!
This bridge marks a trailhead which follows the old North Fork road. The trail follows the Shoshone River up to the Buffalo Bill dam. Nice easy hike and very scenic.
Perfect and quiet place to ride bikes, run, or walk. Went all the way to the dam. One of the best adventures of our trip
Comfortable, easy walk with some nice geography. The entire walk is paved and wide, suitable for large groups, walking pets or babies, jogging, long boards, and even unicycles.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
