Confirmed from Heart Pond Beach's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Heart Pond Beach
“Clean Beach and fun to visit after a long bike ride on the rail trail.”
“It's beautiful and right on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail!”
Heart Pond is the perfect place to spend the afternoon, walk your dog to, and bring your kids to. It's small, so it works great for a casual beach day. It has swings, picnic tables, a porter potty, and a lifeguard during certain months. It's beautiful and right on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail!
Clean Beach and fun to visit after a long bike ride on the rail trail. There’s a small swing set for the kids and some grass to relax on.
Nice beach with clean water. Good for swimming, kayaking and paddleboard. Trail yo walk next to it. Family fun spot.
Beautiful pond. Type in heart pond beach for route and not heart pond. As heart pond leads to private property which one should not be venturing into. The water is clear. Ample space for parking, wheel chair accessible, kids friendly, public toilet, dogs on leash.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
