We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Heights Hike and Bike Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Heights Hike and Bike Trail
This is our favorite trail in the area. We prefer to run/walk the trail, but there are plenty of bikes as well. People are friendly and it usually has a nice amount of people traffic, but not too much. There is a lot of shade on the route as well.
Best outdoor public space in Houston. Good restrooms, running paths, and picnic areas.
Great place to bike or walk. Lots of cool shops, restaurants, and bars along the way. Plus awesome views of the bayou and Downtown.
Makes me happy that things like this exist in Houston. Perfect for spending a little or a lot of time walking or biking on.
