Confirmed from Heritage Greenway Park & Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic park with picnic tables and paved paths, plus a splash pad. Dam views are an attraction.

What runners say about Heritage Greenway Park & Trails

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (365 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Green grass, so much to explore, the Dam is awesome, park is clean and not one person but me was enjoying the space.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Also, keep your dog on a leash especially during the summer as there's been known to be rattlesnakes hiding in the beautiful shrubs along the many paved paths.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Beautiful serene walking trails along the river or not .”

We love to take the Grandkids to this park. We can take them down to the water to see the ducks. It's not a good place to swim but they can get their feet wet. The park and bathrooms are always spotless. There's a huge padded playground for the kids to climb and jump.

About a 2 mile walk from the main intersection of Laughlin when you get into the casino area. Flat paved path asking the river as well as a dirt/gravel path for horses. Restrooms at both ends and water fountains and covered shade areas every mile or less.

★★★★★ — Sparky , May 2022

Beautiful serene walking trails along the river or not . There is a park for the kiddos and picnic tables.

Nice paved and dirt trails going along the Colorado river. You can go on top of the dam and do dirty stuff on the state line. Not as fun as 4 corners, but no crowds watching.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
