We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Heritage Port yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Year-round festivals & live entertainment draw crowds to this riverfront park along a bike trail.

I have been staying near the herritage port while working in the area. I brought my dog with me (thinking I was only going to be working in the area for a week, but that quickly changed into 3 weeks. The Herritage Port is a nice walking/picnic/dog walking area in Wheeling WV.
A wonderful outdoor space. Has a playground for the kids. Outdoor amphitheaters. Lots of shaded walkways and easy access to the river.
My family and I love to take the dogs for a walk down to the water front where they can stretch their legs run through the splash pab, when it's hot, enjoy the festivals, the music and the movies depending on what night or time of year. You decide to visit.
Very nice park, and pretty clean. Oly issue is one area I wouldn't walk by myself. A guy puking and shaking. Sorry, but facts. Mostly felt safe, patrolling officers went by twice in an hour. Wesbanco Arena , (hockey) is right there too.
