We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Oglebay Falls yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Oglebay Falls
“Beautiful waterfall with trails going up into the woods.”
This delightful waterfall is located next to Warden Run Road at the south edge of Oglebay Park. There are parking spaces for maybe five vehicles on the roadside nearby. The overall height of 15 feet is divided into two sections by a stone tier which makes it like two waterfalls in one.
This area has 3 waterfalls and 2 parking areas. Up top, there is a trail that goes back into the woods. there's a cute little waterfall back there. the other waterfalls are to the left and right of the viewing platform. you can reach the bottom of these falls easily from the lower parking area down stream.
Literally next to the road with pull off areas nearby on the left. WV waterfall trail sign is across the creek which was shallow with stones for crossing. Viewing platform also across the creek, paths down to the creek itself.
Beautiful waterfall with trails going up into the woods. Ample parking above and below the falls. Great place to visit, start a hike, have a photo shoot.
