Confirmed from High Vista Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about High Vista Nature Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (15 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

They cut all the big trees down then slapped a wildlife sanctuary sticker on it. Great spot to hike and seethe over the slow death of the world’s ecosystems

★★★★★ — Jim , Jul 2021

Parking area is big enough for two to three cars. We took the red blaze trail. It was well marked. Bug spray is helpful but not mandatory. Trail crosses a few streams. We were there during the driest part of summer so there was almost no water or mud. It was a pleasant walk on a summer afternoon.

★★★★☆ — Amy , Jul 2022

Trails well marked, can be muddy after a good rain and the creek crossings can be harder to cross and stay dry after a good rain, so where waterproof shoes or shoes you dont care about getting wet. After a good rain, some nice waterfalls spring up.

★★★★☆ — Michael , May 2025

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 2 mentions

“Small parking area big enough for a few cars, or just park along the shoulder of the road”
