Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Took a walk in Highland Hammock and I’m pretty sure I met every single mosquito in Florida. Seriously — it’s like they were hosting a reunion on the trails. That said, the park is absolutely gorgeous.

We really enjoyed our short stay at the park's campground despite the lack of any privacy on the campsite (106). We had neighbors on all 4 sides. So close that I felt like I couldn't even fart outside my camper. The trails are fantastic. We enjoyed walking our dogs & cycling in various areas of the park.

Highlands Hammock State Park is a unique park because of it natural resources. It contains a lot green areas plus alot of forests and walk trails. You get a great adventure whether walk or bike on the different trails. No only that, we got the feeling of peacefulness and tranquility, it is like been in heaven on earth.

This is a wonderful experience with nature and history. This is a great place for family time, picnic, hiking, biking and just enjoying our natural environment. Get a great ice cream at the general store to top off your visit

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
