Confirmed from Lake June in Winter Scrub Preserve State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Remote wilderness park offering wildlife viewing, nature trails & fishing along the lakefront.
What runners say about Lake June in Winter Scrub Preserve State Park
“This is a beautiful scrub park complete with scrub Jay's, a short nature trail, and lake access.”
“A little bit out of the way makes this a quiet place.”
If you are a nature freak and love exploring new places. This is a must. But be sure to come with a partner as there are bears 🐻 in the park. They are most active during dusk and dawn. Bring bear spray if you go on the hiking trails. This place has a really nice view of the lake.
My rating is based on the expectations of visitors. But it is an excellent place. This is a beautiful scrub park complete with scrub Jay's, a short nature trail, and lake access. This is a definite short stop for nature lovers, birders, and fishers.
I don't get the low reviews. Small park, not much to do, but you don't NEED much to do. It's just a nice little place to walk around at. It's on a beautiful lake, and the trail is short but nice. I loved walking out and looking at the lake. Probably coming back here.
Rode my bike to and through the park, walked to the water and walked the trail. Saw an eagle, common ground doves. Spring and moving water was a big surprise! Lots of life. Update on a subsequent visit - at dusk a double family of 11 wild boar seen from the entrance area. Saw at least 6 FL Scrub Jay's.
