Confirmed from Hillman State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Open for seasonal hunting on 3,000 acres, this park also has hiking trails & a model airplane field.
What runners say about Hillman State Park
“An undeveloped state park with various mountain bike trails for all levels of skills.”
Super single track winding and rolling mountain bike trails. Located a few ponds or lakes with fish. Coming back with rod to try out and catch something. Add in a few miles of gravel and country roads and can easily reach a 50 mile ride.
Endless mountain bike trails and big bass fishing in crystal clear lakes.
I'm not a fan of hiking but Hillman has a Wetland Trail which is easy to walk and passes several nice ponds (see one pond in attached picture). If hiking's your thing, there's 18 other trails running a total of 34 miles. The other feature of the park is for a specific hobby of radio-controlled aircraft flying.
An undeveloped state park with various mountain bike trails for all levels of skills. No restrooms available or any other services. The area has limited cellphone service. A handheld GPS is essential for hiking or biking.
Trail conditions & character
“Strung together a 10 mile loop by following abbys trail to the switchback trail to the wetlands trail and maybe even a few others that we just connected to.”
“Great place for hiking and mountain biking and not very hilly in comparison to other parks.”
