Confirmed from Hogeye Walking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Beautiful peaceful walking path from Everglades to Edna's on the Green.”

Busy in certain areas where carts are allowed. I’d like more signage as well, along the trail. Had fun, tho. Beauty of a day.

Contrary to one of the reviews, there are restrooms near Edna's On the Green. We like parking near there and starting the loop from that end. Our dogs love it, too! As people have said, lots of birds and we almost always spot at least one alligator! Dress for the weather - I like layers for when it is cooler.

I love this walking trail! There is plenty of nature (alligators, sand hill cranes, lakes, and Live Oak trees). The trail is about 2.5 miles all the way around. You can walk your dog here too or go for a run. If you get thirsty, Edna's Restaurant is right here with drinks and great lunch options.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🔁 Loop trail 6 mentions

“It is technically a loop trail, but I so it out and back because I spend so much time photographing birds.”
