Confirmed from Holbrook Hollows' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Holbrook Hollows

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (148 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Outside there is a fire pit, stadium seating, several tables and grills, walking trails, a large parking lot, a clean outhouse, a playground, and tons of space for everyone!”

Great new park just opened. Beware of horse poop all over the place from local riders I discovered it before it was opened since it connects to the Solon-Chagrin trail, which will take you from Chagrin River to Greenville Tavern. It would connect Chagrin to Solon but residents have been fighting it.

I love our new park! I hike throughout the Geauga Parks and Metro Parks; this is a great addition. It is only a half mile from our home, so I can hike there too. The trails even connect to Chagrin!

Good for young kids. Needs more paved paths. People speeding in the parking lot right next to play area, a speed bump would help. Will look awesome when the grass grows in

★★★★☆ — Rich , May 2019

Pleasant little park with rolling, well managed paths that are mostly under forest. Stream runs through the area. My favorite spot was the boggy deck walk. Lots of native flowers there in late May. Connects up with the bridle trail and has a parking area for your horse trailer. Facilities.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller

  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
