Confirmed from Holyoke Heritage State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a cultural exhibit center, a children's & volleyball museum, a carousel & canal views.
What runners say about Holyoke Heritage State Park
The park grounds are lovely right by the river. The building contains a wonderful merry-go-round that the 5 and 3-year-olds really loved. And a bonus it goes at a pretty good clip!! Outside in warm weather there's a small spray area along the walking path.
Well maintained area. The path along the river is enjoyable. Park here then further down the path is a splash pad, playground and children's museum! **I haven't been to the carousel portion, I think it's only open on weekends.**
My husband and I joined a walk today, a tour of the Holyoke canal system around the park, and the park next to the dam on the Connecticut River falls. It was a light introduction to the City of Holyoke's fascinating history. More in-depth history is available, also through other programs.
New splash pad is great looking. Walk by a bunch to go to children's museum. Very tidy. All water works. Kids are always playing and having a great time. The play area near the canal looks amazing too. Again always at least 1 group of kids playing or just being kids. Good place to come spend a few hours with the family
