Confirmed from Hoopers Hollow Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hoopers Hollow Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (83 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“The path is well paved, the park is clean, and the paths have a nice uphill/downhill balance.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Generally quiet neighborhood park with a short 1/3 mile paved trail, lots of hilly grass, and a small marsh.”

My favorite small park in the world...also one of the places I escaped to as a kid to get some peace and quiet. It sure has cleaned up in the past few decades...kinda wish the merry-go-round was still there! Bring your kids, bring your grandparents, dogs and dragons...the big tree at the top of the hill is what's up!

The tobagen slide that once was. Now a beautiful park to go if you like to take a walk. Perhaps sit under the oaks and read. Pet owners love this park due to the foot path that surrounds it. A very nice healthy walk for both you and your pet with some elevation changes that will get both of your hearts beating.

A little hidden gem of a park in Downers Grove. This park has a great, updated playground, 6 swings, and a nice walking path. The creek nearby is quaint. Overall the kids definitely like this park and my sister frequently take them there.

An adorable mowed little open field with children's playground, has a small path around the whole area. It is cute, clean and in the middle of residential homes. Great for a quick walk with the dog!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
