Confirmed from Hopkins Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Please disregard previous reviews regarding the condition of the disc golf course! Tremendous amount of work has gone into the course, excellent signage including directional information has been added.

On a long road trip with two dogs, just passing through and stopped here for a walk. Congratulations, Hopkins Lake Park, you managed to get these veteran deep forest hikers completely lost on your winding trails. I ended up having to use my gps watch to find my way back to the parking area!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“There are picnic tables, a pavilion, a fenced-in dog park, a Frisbee Golf Course that goes around the entire lake.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
