Confirmed from W.E. Johnson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Quiet

Large, secluded park with walking/hiking trails, wildlife viewing, river access & natural scenery.

What runners say about W.E. Johnson Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (103 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“I was really really quiet and eventually there were eight of the finches on the lavender bush.”

Preserved nature area close to the city. Shared with an area set aside for archery. Popular place for horse riding as it's near a boarding area but there are lots of trails are plenty of places to get out of the way. Trail through the park connects to others going all around the town.

★★★★★ — Ken , Dec 2020

We loved this area. It's a great place to walk and be in nature. There is a nice walkway for walkers, bicyclists, and horses, plus smaller trails that wind around. Great place to bird watch in the spring based on the different trees and available water.

★★★★★ — That'S , Feb 2021

Spent my childhood down here. Chasing rabbits, catching snakes. Nature's getting choked out here in the tri cities, weird to see this place surrounded by condos and modular homes. But still a nice walk I guess... Nostalgia is rough...

★★★★★ — Curtis , Oct 2016

Nice park for walking but there's lots of horse traffic kicking up dust. Trails can be quite sandy in spots. Lots of birds and butterflies to observe.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🤫 Quiet / uncrowded 3 mentions
