Confirmed from Huachuca Canyon Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Rough but easy-to-moderate trail hiking area with oak trees and wildflowers, home to bears and deer. Playground and picnic tables on-site.
What runners say about Huachuca Canyon Trailhead
“Very easy trail that can be enjoyed by the whole family.”
Great spot for mountain biking and hiking. Get to the top of any peak for am amazing view that screams the existence of a creator.
Great hike! Over the years we have enjoyed many interesting encounters here; turkeys, deer, rattlesnakes, and bears. Our most wonderful meeting was with members of the tribe that originally lived here. They traveled all the way back here from the reservation to collect the particular acorns that fall from these trees.
What a pleasant and easy hike. My wife and I are both getting a bit older and have minor mobility issues, but that wasn't a problem in the least. The trail is well set up and the incline is so small that it isn't even really noticable.
A great area to hike. You can walk with ease about 3.5 miles on the main trail before you hit much difficulty. There are several trails that branch off and are steeper and rockier.
Trail conditions & character
“This is a nice wide trail but the trail that runs from resoivior hill parking lot along the summit next to it is way better.”
“Get to the top of any peak for am amazing view that screams the existence of a creator.”
“I didn't go further than the picnic table at the trailhead, but this place feels so far removed from the bustle, and yet I spent my lunch break here.”
“The trail is very rocky though so unless you have a really beefy stroller you will have to use a carrier for the very little ones.”
