Confirmed from Huckleberry Point's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Just about 2 and half hrs drive from NYC and about an hour of easy hike gets you there.”

It was THE best short hiking trail I have done till now in the US, and mind it I have done approx 20 trails till now. We came upon this trail thorough AT only and decided to go for it reading the reviews. It is 2 1/2 hrs from our home. Follow the AT map to reach parking trail head.

There is a beautiful view in all directions. Follow the Blue Trail to the Yellow Trail Marker. Follow the Yellow Trail to Huckleberry Point. If you pack a lunch you can eat it on the rocks with a view. The hike round trip is just under 5 miles.

Good hike with great view at huckleberry pt. Rocky trails that can be muddy after rain. Stream crossing. Easy to moderate elevation gain. Saw a snake at view point so be aware.

This is one of the most rewarding hikes I have taken. It’s a moderate leveled hike. Make sure you have at least two liters of water per person in the group! Cheers :)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
