Confirmed from Hudson River Waterfront Walkway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I have watched this waterfront walk evolve and expand over the past two decades. Aside from the amenities and great dining options you will find plenty of places to take a break, picnic or play. Take in the spectacular views of the New York City skyline both day and night.

A picturesque riverside broadwalk, probably the place to see the best Manhattan view from the other bank of Hudson, situated at Hoboken. There’s ample space for walk and jogging, a vast green grassland to spend leisure time. The sunset view is just cherry on the cake.

This is a fantastic riverside Boardwalk. It is built and maintained very well and is always very clean. Not too crowded. Great place for fantastic views of Manhattan, especially great for photography. Ample space for long walks and jogging.

I visited the Hoboken waterfront on a weekday evening, right after picking up dinner from a nearby food cart. I decided to take a stroll before eating — and I’m so glad I did. The view was absolutely stunning.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
