I love going to Huff Park for walks. It has a boardwalk that goes through a lovely wooded area that often has little streams and you can see red-winged blackbirds, sometimes you get to see dear, bunnies, butterflies, dragonflies, and other critters. On nice days it is a very heavily populated area for walks.
Huff Park provides an escape to a natural area very close to downtown Grand Rapids. The main trail is wheelchair accessible, with a paved portion and boardwalk over the wetlands. The plastic lumber for the boardwalk does create static electricity, so expect the periodic shock when you touch something.
Lovely trail over the wetlands. Went to my niece’s baseball at the diamonds and found a wonderful trail around the park. Who knew such a lovely trail was right near Creston. This park was a hidden gem, and while we saw lots of others. It wasn’t overly crowded. Also, we saw deer and bird watchers.
A great park with a well kept boardwalk. Great place for birding. Walking path is about 3 miles start to finish passing through tall grass, tree canopies and deadwood. It's busy with birds in all seasons and is very peaceful in the evenings.
