Confirmed from Hunterwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hunterwood Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (28 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“You see lot of beautiful birds around the parks especially red cardinal’s.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“Today I took my kids through the trails in the park for the first time in over a decade and was nearly aghast at how much canopy the city has removed.”

Small neighborhood park with playground for the kids and an equally small 1/2 mile trail. It’s still an enjoyable space for a stroll.

★★★★★ — Sergio , Jun 2023

This is still the best park in Coppell, one that I have fond memories of riding through on my bike as a kid in a weirdly out of place, well-forested wonderland meandering through and around Grapevine Creek.

★★★★★ — Brad , Aug 2025

Its a nice little park with swings, and tables and running around space. End of a cul-de-sac. Just be careful, there is poison Ivy on the trail.

★★★★☆ — Kimberly , Apr 2021

Very compact, cute little park surrounded by large old trees, which protects the park like a wall when there is a windy day outside . Small creek right next to the playground.Very clean and well maintained park. It has hiking trails in the forest right next to playground area.Good for toddler kids.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🌳 Shaded / tree cover 5 mentions
