What runners say about Ice Age Trail West Bend Trailhead
Very nice trail that meanders through fields, forests and low lands. Parked at the Ice Age Trail Ridge Road lot and headed north along Sunburst ski park then under Hwy 45 at the pedestrian tunnel and northwest to the Hwy H IAT lot at the Milwaukee River. I saw squirrels, birds, Sandhill cranes, turkey, deer and more.
Not necessarily our absolute favorite due to the proximity to the freeway, but if you are into the terrain, there is a nice spot where you are atop one good size esker with another one on either side of you... relatively rare. Put some ear buds in and enjoy!
Nice trail. We went in winter when there was a little snow on the trail and it was great. The pond was frozen.
Great trail in summer and winter. 4 different loops. All of the loops would be about 5 miles.
