Confirmed from Indian Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic, family-friendly trail for walking, running and biking, passing by playgrounds and parks.
What runners say about Indian Creek Trailhead
“Access to miles of well maintained trails that wind through mostly shaded areas when the leaves are out.”
“It's a great get-away for walking/running/biking - just keep to the right and you won't be run over by cyclists.”
Absolutely love this trail. Has newly paved pathways. Always clean. People are friendly. Has Porta potty. Love spending time on this trail.
The trail manages to seem scenic despite passing right through very developed areas of KC. It's a great get-away for walking/running/biking - just keep to the right and you won't be run over by cyclists.
There’s hardly a trail in Kansas that’s quite like the Indian Creek Trail, besides the connected Tomahawk Creek. The ICT allows you to bike at most 40 miles, going both ways from a location. The trail goes all the way from Leawood (though it connects to the Blue River trails in Missouri) to Hampton Park, in Olathe!
This is our goto trail. We have been running/biking/walking on this trail system, using this trailhead, for 20+ years. There is a good amount of parking and a port-o-let. My only wish was a water fountain. We will use this trailhead for another 20 years, Lord willing.
