We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Island Grove Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Man-made pond for swimming, with trails for dog walking, plus a small bridge.
What runners say about Island Grove Park
“The water is clean as it has a natural spring and they put chlorine in also.”
“It's a great place to take pictures I'm sure the foliage will be beautiful.”
I have been coming here since I was a little kid. I now have my own child, and have also brought her here since she was a baby. There's a swimming area- pond- which is separate from the big pond you can see from the street. They add chlorine to the swimming area to keep it clean.
I attended a Halloween event sponsored by the Lions Club. It's a great place to bring the family. You can take a nature walk on one of the trails or take a swim in one of the man made swimming holes. There is a store that sells things like hot dogs and chips soda or water.
Cute little park. Impressively clean. Plenty of friendly people. I must have come during dog walking time, because there were dozens of them. Most were leashed, but not all. This made my little girl anxious at times and took away from our leisurely winter stroll.
We love walking down there. At points you could imagine you were hiking the white mountains
