Confirmed from Island Lake County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Clean, well maintained, safe place to take the kids or simply take a walk around the very nice walking path. People are friendly and seem to be keeping an eye open for one another. An officer was on site. Access to water for kayaking of boating well maintained. No motor boats with their irritating noice. It allowed.

Found this place completely by accident when I missed my turn and decided to see where the road took me. That wrong turn ended up being exactly right! Gorgeous park, community room, paved trails, swimming, fishing, ducks, playgrounds, multiple picnic areas, this place is just awesome.

It's a nice little park mainly for walks and children play area. I also saw some fishermen on the lakeshow. Great environment.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
