Confirmed from Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve / Shirley Heinze Land Trust's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring kid-friendly hikes and trails.
What runners say about Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve / Shirley Heinze Land Trust
“Its beautiful God's land we all have to see it”
A nice tucked away park by a residential neighborhood. A nice gritty vibe passing the railroad tracks. About a 3/4 mile trail of mostly grass with plenty of shade. Sand was a nice touch!
Short easy hike. Make sure not to go during a rainy season, otherwise you won't be able to complete the loop.
It's a nice park to have a walk or take ur pet for a walk n enjoy the nature n watch the birds fly n play
A nice trail a mile and a half from home. My dog says "™ woof woof wruff arf!! ", he likes it !

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
