Confirmed from Jack Island's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking and biking trail featuring a scenic tower and thickets of mangroves.
What runners say about Jack Island
“Beautiful trails, great for walking with your dogs or riding your bike.”
“Great place to walk and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere!”
Wonderful hiking and biking. Trails are hard-pressed sand and grassy in the middle, but some areas are softer sand and biking can be difficult. Nice 2 story viewing platform. Skeeters are visious toward dusk. They now charge for parking.
Dog friendly: yes The trail is more of a service road. It is flat, sandy and wide. It is an easy hike. The vegetation is thick on both sides; you will not get lost. It was an overcast Sunday afternoon when I hiked. The trail is not covered by trees so on a sunny day it will be in the sun.
4/29/25 stopped by Jack Island State Park via Jack Island Access road off the A1A. Looks like a great place to hike, nice breeze, lizards around, parking fee slot there as well, no restrooms.
A nice place to go and enjoy a hike. The trails are wide and very well maintained. You don't get much of view of the water.
