Nice and quiet place for trailing, kayaking. Visited in the end of December and saw few kids were getting trained for Boys' Scout. You have to carry your own kayak or canoe. There's nice long wooden bridge in the park around which you may see some 'brave' squirrels posing for you.
First off, and the reason I am rating the park today (sing along in your best Snoopy Voice) No Dogs Allowed. Anywhere, on or off the trails. This is not because NPR doesn't love your dogs, but it is because the Gopher Tortoises that call the park home, do not.
Day of kayaks a day of taking photos and a day of walking the park, handicap accessible all the way around with lots of benches for resting pavilions with bench for looking out on the river. Absolutely perfect hidden gem in the city. Well worth the walk on concrete and wood or some offbeat trails.
Peaceful park with gorgeous boardwalk. Very well maintained and even handicapped can feel like they are trekking through a real Florida jungle. Wonderful pavilions with big tables. Great for family get together. Quite. Very nice kayak launch.
