Confirmed from James G. Atkinson Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about James G. Atkinson Memorial Park
“It’s a very nice clean park with basketball court and other sports, they also have outdoor concerts there occasionally and there is a pretty trail by the river.”
A family favorite! Between the expansive playground, the walking trail around the pond, accessible to relatively clean bathrooms, the cleanliness of the pavilion and the shade around the playground area, all of our kids love this park and it's well worth the 30 minute drive!
The bathrooms could use better maintenance, but overall the park itself offers many walking paths, different playgrounds, and many courts and fields for a variety of sports. This includes the pickle ball courts, tennis courts, and baseball fields!
This park is nice and relaxing. A very nice place to walk and enjoy some nature. There’s a few trails with a river. A nice little place to walk. Also a little park with swings.
I love coming here to walk the trails. The lake and trees are really pretty. Park has basketball and tennis courts, park workout bars. There is a calendar available which has dates and times for different fun family activities. Restrooms on site. Playground areas on site (toddler/big kids). Park also has a ampitheatre.
