Confirmed from Jerry Matheson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community park with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, baseball field & toddler-friendly playground.
What runners say about Jerry Matheson Park
“A large adjacent field provides additional running around space, and there are basic yet clean toilet facilities on site.”
“My only complaint is that there is virtually no shade over the playground, which means it gets super hot by mid morning (we went in July).”
“There is something to do for kids of all ages.”
We love this park. The playground is expansive and a little different from the cookie-cutter standard fare. There's a large covered pavilion with seating and fans; a perfect vantage point to observe playing children.
Excellent park for kids and families. It has two zip lines, swings, tire swings, a small forest to explore, forts to climb, a young kids section, baseball diamond, swim pool, tennis courts, fields to run in, water fountain, pavilion for parties, and so many more kid related play parts to park.
Trail conditions & character
“My only complaint is that there is virtually no shade over the playground, which means it gets super hot by mid morning (we went in July).”
“They have complementary lights you can use (you don't have to pay like at some light up courts).”
“I didnt see any bathrooms, but the park was pretty big, so there could have been.”
“The park across the parking lot has also received a facelift and update, which now includes a zip line and train.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
