Confirmed from Jim Beam Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Loop trail winding through a quiet nature preserve, with views of the Kentucky River.

“It’s beautiful, not crowded at all, and an easy hike.”
This may be the first trail I have given four stars instead of five. (How could you not love anything nature?) Stars indicate how confidently I would recommend this trail to someone, and I would recommend this trail, but I would have to explain the drawbacks.
My Husband and I visited Jim Beam Nature Preserve to take a hike with our dog to enjoy the beautiful weather! There is one trail, and it is a loop, which makes it easy and you don't have to worry about getting lost. There were signs throughout the trail, guiding us in the right direction.
Not really a review, but an inquiry. From reading the reviews that are here, it sounds like this is not a well maintained trail. I also see there are 2 waterfalls closeby: "Double Oak Falls" & "Halls Branch Falls". My inquiry is, are these accessible from the trail? From the reviews, I am guessing probably not.
Nice little walk through wooded area just above the KY River. Easy loop with a partial view of the river and pallisades. Prefer going opposite direction clockwise.

“It had rained the day before, so the trail was a little muddy, but that is to be expected!”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
