Confirmed from Lake Mingo Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Pond-side park with a disc golf area, a skateboard area and a playground.

Parking was nice. Benches around the pond where great. I would have loved to sit on the far (east) side of the pond facing the afternoon sun (1st gorgeous day of spring weather) but there was no paved pathway around, and very little offroad parking near there. Geese were every where!!!!😁
Beautiful and well maintained, this pocket park is perfect for lunch, grilling, fishing or walking on the paved path. They have a skate park, basketball ball goals and plenty of room to run jump and play! Very relaxing spot! Enjoy!
This little park is a nice surprise smack in the middle of Nicholasville and has improved over the years. It is a great place to hike or bike or picnic. You can fish or watch the blue herons do it. Or you can have lovely conversations with the many ducks and geese.
I love Lake Mingo. It has a great walling trail, beautiful lake, and a fountain with ducks. A skate park and playground. Recently added nice bathrooms and the splash pad. My children absolutely love it!!! It is such a peaceful place to just go and relax.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
