Confirmed from John Collins Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

Great little spot on the lake to have a picnic or just relax. I took my dogs and they had fun running around in the water. There was a water fountain for the dogs as well. Not an area to swim for people though and watch out for the duck poop! Definitely recommend taking a stroll through and enjoy the scenery.

John Collins Park is a great place to relax, and enjoy the views of Reeds Lake. Take a blanket and a picnic, and watch the skiers, kayaks, and sail boats. The paved walking trail will take you around the lake through the neighborhood, with some unpaved paths going through the trees.

★★★★☆ — R , Aug 2023

Wonderful scenery, beautiful for walks, picnics, relaxing. There is a boat launch that can get busy in the warmer months, but it’s never off putting. Close proximity to Gaslight Village makes this park a must-stop before or after dinner on a date night. Great to pair with a walk down the trails around the lake.

★★★★★ — Jim , Nov 2021

Picturesque setting for evening walks and stroll. They had movie in the park playing this summer, fun idea! Feedback: they need to figure out a system for cleaning the grass : duck and goose poop every few feet. You can’t walk or sit without hitting it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
