This park is a wonderful spot for a leisurely walk. Although the playground is compact, it brings some fun for kids. The peaceful ambiance makes it ideal for a laid-back day outdoors, enjoying nature's beauty.
John Crompton Park is small, but beautiful, with a little something for everyone, a pond, playground, basketball courts, picnic areas, birds, trees, squirrels, rabbits, snakes—even the occasional foxes and alligators! It also has just enough paths to get in decent walks and runs.
The park features a pond with a fountain, paved walking trails, basketball court and kids play area, and a pavilion. There are ots of evergreen trees including cedars and live oaks.
It's a nice park to walk around. It does need more lighting at night though. It has a little pavillion with a picnic table by the pond. It also has a larger pavillion and a playground by the parking lot. The parking lot can be crowded, especially on game days for Texas A&M.
