Confirmed from Freeman Lake's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Freeman Lake
“Freeman Lake is one of the best and most well-kept public parks.”
“It's a beautiful park with a lot of history and plenty of things to keep kids busy.”
Passing thru the area on vacation and saw posts about the dog park- decided to hike around the lake instead- 4.5 mles!! Absolutely beautifully maintained trail...
Great place for relaxing, walking, jogging and kayaking! If you want to kayak, its only 10 bucks for an hour! You'll also see people boat paddling and playing tennis nearby. The park is clean and has quiet ambience. A great park for your family and friends 🧡
Easy walk. There's an area where there's no shade but it's beautiful nonetheless. Go for a walk in the morning when it's not too hot (summer time). I'll check back during the fall for beautiful colors.
Tremendous amenity for Hardin County and Elizabethtown proper. Love hiking the trail around the lake.
