Confirmed from Johnstown Trail Head TJ Evans Bike Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

We rode 29 miles on the Thomas J Evans Trail from Johnstown to Newark Ohio this afternoon. This a a very good trail. It is all paved with multiple bridges and a few tunnels. There are several road crossings that are well marked, and many vehicles stopped to let us cross.

A beautiful bike path going through a massive improvement. The path is used for biking and walking both. It runs from Johnstown into the Newark are and is about fourteen interesting and beautiful miles long. it is now recieving a major facelift with a new parking area and a covered shelter house.

Had a great bike ride from Alexandria to Johnstown on the TJ Evans bike trail. Beautiful fall colors all around!

The bike trail that seems to never end! Lol. For my first experience on a bike trail this was truly takes the cake. Nicely shaded area with good turf to ride your bike on. I was so pumped with riding that I went 5 miles, just in one direction and realized I needed to turn back. This will be a weekly thing for me now!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
