Confirmed from Juneau Seawalk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Juneau Seawalk
“Stunning views, Sea planes, and a Bald Eagle We came on a clear day and we even saw a Bald eagle perched on a streetlight.”
Nice boardwalk, with very pretty views. About a 10 minute walk from the cruise dock. The seawalk takes you to the whale project sculpture great place for photos.
Stunning views, Sea planes, and a Bald Eagle We came on a clear day and we even saw a Bald eagle perched on a streetlight. It was a gorgeous vista of the water and you can see where the salt water met fresh water. Lots of sea planes casually taking off. This trail had some chill vibes.
Was extremely crowded but it moves along at a comfortable pace. If you want to avoid the crowd and skip the tourist shops get behind the buildings and you can move quickly through town. Great place for walking, most everything is within 15 minute walk. The views of the water and homes on the other side is very nice.
This is a beautiful broadwalk that stretches from the Overstreet Park to the marina and it is part of the Totem trail. The Seawall winds along the beach and offers numerous view points and scenery. Overall, a wonderful experience.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
