Confirmed from Katherine Kearney Carpenter Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Dogs and their humans were friendly and well mannered; all forgave the poor manners of my 5 month old (very adorable) pup while pitching in to help improve said manners.”

I didn't choose this park my dog did. Pure bread German shepherd named luna . She love to run off the leash.. I definitely recommend this park.

It's unique that it's not the typical open area dog park. It's a trailed off leash park. Our dog loves to flush and his favorite activity is running around in the brush and water. There's a creek...where he splashed around and there are paths and sub paths. He really enjoyed himself.

Took a quick walk on the trails. I then realized it's dog friendly park. Now I'm headed back home to get my Brown Lab (Brownie) & My chihuahua (Nena) Then I'm coming right back to Kearney Carpenter Park Mequon,WI. I'm also going to be coming back very often with my family & Doggies. IT'S THAT NICE!!! 🐾🦴🐾🐶🦴🐕🐾

Great dog park with trails and open areas. And small areas for dipping into the water. Just be aware that it is not enclosed for dogs that may run off

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 47 mentions

“Despite not having a fence it works really well, if you are uncomfortable with having your dog off-leash in a gate-less park just keep the leash on.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
