Confirmed from Mequon dog park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Mequon dog park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (86 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Best dog part around! But, your dog must be able to be off leash and be recalled -- there are no fences in the dog park. The park is a large open field, typical of most dog parks. But, the best part of the park is the paths that wind throughout the park.

This is our favorite dog park but can get very muddy in the warmer months. I wish they would work on the drainage issues on the low areas of the paths and maybe raise the height of the path in certain areas along with putting down wood chips, similar to Lions Den and Grafton Dog Park.

Really nice park with trails to walk with dogs it's very clean and everyone is friendly they have water bowls for dogs and bags to pick up after your dogs in case you forget the only down side is that it's not fenced in and close to free way otherwise really nice park

Tarzan and I really enjoy Mequon Dog Park! We ran into lots of dogs, and everyone got along great! It is great for off-leach exercise and has short trails to adventure!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
