Confirmed from Kentucky Lucky Chicken Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Kentucky Lucky Chicken Trailhead
“A beautiful technical loop with great views and lots to explore.”
On a bike, you might need to hike a bit. Hike the whole thing first and scout it out. There are some gnarly technical sections. Love it. Park on the street down below and climb the fire road to the trailhead. It is well done.
If you’re looking for trees, this isn’t the hike for you. If you’re looking for 360 degree views of St George and surrounding area, I highly recommend the trail. You are fully exposed, so prepare for sun and bring adequate water. Many reviews state that the trail is “moderate” or “technical”.
Great trail. Super technical. Definitely not a beginners mountain bike trail. Watch out for rattlesnakes (obviously, since you're in the desert).
Great views. Super techy if you're trying to mountain bike. Great hike at night.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
