Pretty good hike with the family and our dog. Great views of South and West areas of St. George Green Valley area and the mountains in the distance. Several benches along the way to sit if you need a break. The rocks along the trail are big and fun to look at. The trail is an easy one if you have small kids or dogs.
Easy hike for kids, and it is family friendly. The history plaquards mention the year it was erected, what they used to haul out the basalt to form basements for housing, and in particular, the OG (original) Mormon temple. It continues on, but due to the timing, we decided to turn around since the sun was setting.
Easy 2.3 mile (round-trip) trail to see where they quarried stone for the St George temple. There are a couple of signs, but not tons of information. Its not a traditional quarry with a pit or wall of rocks, but you can see some chisel marks on rocks. There are a few benches along the way. Good trail for kids .
I loved hiking this trail for the most time it was flat and shaded in the evening. The trail is about 2.5 miles long and good for dogs. One thing I would recommend is to wear close toe shoes because there are a lot of rocks you can stub your toe on.
