Confirmed from Kesling Park Walking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Kesling Park Walking Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (203 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 9 mentions

“Always well maintained with many different areas for different activities.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Large open grassy areas, the hill in the middle of the park is a unique feature and very beautiful.”

My grandchildren love playing at the Fort LaPorte. The older one's run laps on the trail which I love because it's marked out & there are spots to stop to do exercises at different points. The kids love running up & down the hills in the center of the walking area also.

If you're just looking for a nice, paved trail to walk/run a mile or three, this is a great place to go. They keep all of the grass cut so that it always looks nice. They have exercise equipment at the beginning of the trail - I've never tried it, so I can't really review those.

Large open grassy areas, the hill in the middle of the park is a unique feature and very beautiful. Large trees to get out of the sun if wanted. The entire park is surrounded by a walking/ jogging Trail. Comfortable benches are situated throughout the perimeter of the park, it's a very nice park

1.7 miles of trail in this beautiful park ❤ Lots of opportunities for exercise here. There is exercise equipment, tennis courts, ball diamonds, open lawns, a large playground with a zip line! Indoor restrooms and picnic shelters also! This park is one gem among many La Porte County parks! ❤

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 13 mentions

“You can also walk your dog, they have bags for clean up.”
