Confirmed from Soldiers Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park on Stone Lake offering a beach with lifeguards, play equipment, a picnic shelter & restrooms.
What runners say about Soldiers Memorial Park
“We got swimming, boating, camping (if your really lucky) and of course a ton of trails, everything is well maintained.”
“Beautiful city park with what appears to be some old growth forest and a diverse forest community.”
“But the walking trails were nice and peaceful and the bathrooms were open and clean.”
We visited this place in month of May and it was a great weather. This lake beach was just ok, it’s little dirty with plants floating around. It dint have any waves as such like Michigan lake beach. I dint feel it’s good for swim. It’s best for kayak and water sports. The water was cold.
Great place to take the kids and do some walking. Whether you do the paved trail around the lake or the wooded trails, there's always something to spot! Our kids also love the playground and the restrooms are always kept clean!
I go towards dusk during summer, to avoid the vacation crowd. Dogs welcomed on leash. Most of the trails are cleared, easy and definitely beautiful.
Let me start by saying I love this area. I grew up near lake Michigan so in a way this is a home away from home. We got swimming, boating, camping (if your really lucky) and of course a ton of trails, everything is well maintained. The best part is we've not had to pay a dime to use it.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.

- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
